No words can describe the intense sadness that your lost represents for many people, not just family or colleagues but many unknown persons or students that you helped selflessly without hesitation such as me. Many people are not in France to honour you in person. Fortunately, we still can quickly express through this mean.
Here I am, Sheila, the Peruvian girl who you start mentoring in Brazil without knowing me at all. I’m the one who you welcomed and guided in France in much more than just professional matters. I’m the one who you assisted through the distance even without asking for it. Your advice and guidance are able to change lives. I am just an example of many that shows your kindness and wonderful heart. I am sure your mark is spread in many people worldwide. More than a professor, you are an inspiration as a human being!
Today, the day of your burial, ‘je te embrace fortement du fond de mon cœur‘ for the very last time. However, I want to remark that this is not a goodbye. Definitely, you will remain in our hearts forever!
